Topic:        Strong carers, stronger children - Victoria’s first home-based Carer Strategy

Presenter: Mick Naughton—DHHS

Mick Naughton is Assistant Director, System Reform, at the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. 

Mick will be presenting on the Victorian Government’s first home-based Carer Strategy Strong carers, stronger children. This new strategy provides a strategic framework that will guide the design and delivery of improved programs and services to support the vital role of Victoria’s kinship, foster and permanent carers.

Mick will talk about key reform projects and initiatives that will contribute to implementing the carer strategy and its associated action plans. His presentation will focus on how government, in collaboration with peak bodies and other community sector partners, can achieve better outcomes for home-based carers and the children and young people in their care.
